Coach at BrightEyes

BrightEyes carries Coach sunglasses, mostly women's frames, in acetate, injected and metal, with polarised options. Our stores, which run from Cairns to Broome, fit and adjust any Coach pair free. Before you order, selected Coach frames can be tried on your face in the browser with virtual try-on, and Afterpay and Zip are accepted.

Choosing a Coach frame

Coach frames carry two codes: a Coach style code and a model number, such as CBY91 HC8434U. Over the past year three models were effectively tied as our most bought. The CBY91 HC8434U is a medium frame with an irregular shape in black or milky putty. The CBY82 HC8435U is a medium square in dark tortoise or black. The CW195 HC8408U is a similar medium square in milky hazelnut or black. Each comes in a polarised version.

The CBZ52 HC8439U is a medium acetate rectangle, the CD472 HC8352 a large acetate square in black with blush, and the CDP42 HC8456D a black pillow shape. For metal, the CDP44 HC7192D is an extra-large shiny gold frame and the C6178 HC7128 a rose gold aviator. Square frames make up the largest share of the range. Coach lenses

About one in eight of our Coach colourways have polarised lenses, which reduce glare reflected off shiny surfaces such as water and wet roads. Non-polarised options include solid grey and brown tints and gradients that go from a darker shade at the top to a lighter one at the bottom, including softer mixes such as brown pink or brown purple. For more polarised choice, see our polarised sunglasses, drawn from a range of brands.

About Coach

Coach was founded in 1941 as a family-run workshop in a loft on 34th Street in Manhattan, where six leather-workers made wallets and billfolds by hand. It is a New York fashion house known for handbags and accessories, and it licenses its name to Luxottica for eyewear.

Coach sunglasses questions

Who makes Coach sunglasses?

Luxottica. Coach licenses its name and branding to Luxottica for eyewear, so Coach sunglasses are made by Luxottica, which also makes Prada, Versace and Burberry eyewear under licence. Eyewear is not new to Coach: Bonnie Cashin, its creative head from 1962 to 1974, designed matching eyewear alongside her handbags.

Which Coach frame should I choose?

Compare these three frames. The HC8435U is a medium square in an injected frame, available with polarised lenses. The HC8439U is a medium rectangle in acetate, with solid grey or wine lenses. The HC8444D is a large black injected rectangle for a wider face. Start with the size that matches sunglasses you already own, then pick square or rectangle.

Are Coach sunglasses polarised?

Some are. About one in eight of our Coach colourways have polarised lenses, including versions of the HC8434U, HC8435U and HC8408U. Check the lens type in each product's details before you order. Polarised lenses reduce glare reflected off shiny surfaces such as water, which makes them a good choice for driving and the beach.

Are Coach sunglasses for women or men?

Mostly women. The large majority of our Coach range sits in our women's sunglasses, with a smaller selection also listed for men. Squares and rectangles in black or tortoise, like the HC8435U and HC8439U, are a good starting point if you prefer a plain shape.

How do you know if Coach glasses are authentic?

Ours come from BrightEyes as an authorised retailer: genuine Coach sunglasses, with full warranty. On a Coach frame, the two codes help. The listing for our leading colourway reads CBY82 HC8435U 5120T5 in size 54, giving the style code, model number, colour and size, so you can compare the pair that arrives with the one you chose.

Where can I buy Coach sunglasses in Australia?

Here, online. Try selected frames first with virtual try-on, and return an online order by post within 30 days for a refund if the pair is not right. Free fitting and adjustment is available in any BrightEyes store, and the store finder shows your closest stores.

How much do Coach sunglasses cost?

It varies with the frame: injected frames such as the HC8435U, acetate frames such as the HC8439U and metal frames such as the HC7192D are each priced on their own listing. The current price of every Coach frame is on this page, and Afterpay or Zip lets you pay in instalments.

Do you sell Coach prescription glasses?

No. BrightEyes does not fit prescription lenses, so we cannot turn a Coach sunglass into prescription eyewear. If you wear glasses every day, the practical options are fitover sunglasses large enough to go over them, or clip-on sunglasses that attach to your existing frame.
