Choosing a Miu Miu frame

The MUA03S is our most-bought Miu Miu model over the past year: a large acetate frame with an irregular shape, in black or honey havana. Next is the MUA51S, a gold metal rectangle with bronze mirror gradient lenses, then the MUB04S, another large irregular acetate shape. The MU52YS is a large metal oval in brass gold or pale gold, and the MUA04S a large butterfly.

The MU09WS rectangle and MU11WS oval are extra-large acetate frames, while the MUA06S, MUB09S and MU06ZS are smaller. Across the range, irregular, rectangle and oval shapes outnumber everything else. Most of our Miu Miu frames are listed in our women's sunglasses, and our guide to the best sunglass shape for your face will help you narrow it down.

Miu Miu lenses

None of our current Miu Miu frames have polarised lenses. Lens options include dark grey, brown and bronze tints, gradient lenses that go from a darker shade at the top to a lighter one at the bottom, and the occasional mirror finish. If you want polarised lenses for glare off water, our polarised sunglasses bring together polarised frames from a range of other brands.

About Miu Miu

Miuccia Prada established Miu Miu in 1992 and launched it publicly in 1993. The name comes from her family nickname. Miu Miu is a fully owned subsidiary of Prada, and its sunglasses are made under licence by Luxottica.

Miu Miu sunglasses questions

Are Miu Miu sunglasses polarised?

Not in our current range. Every Miu Miu colourway we carry is recorded as non-polarised, with tinted lenses such as dark grey, brown or bronze, many of them gradients. Polarised lenses reduce glare reflected off shiny surfaces such as water, so if that matters most, choose a polarised frame from another brand.

Does Prada still own Miu Miu?

Yes. Miu Miu is a fully owned subsidiary of Prada and is headed by Miuccia Prada, who founded it in 1992. Under an agreement made with Prada, Miu Miu's sunglasses and prescription frames are produced and distributed by Luxottica, the same company that makes Prada eyewear.

Are Miu Miu sunglasses only for women?

Miu Miu designs for women, and most of our Miu Miu frames are listed in our women's sunglasses, with none in men's. Anyone can wear them, of course. If you want a plainer shape, start with the rectangles such as the MU09WS and MUA05S, and check whether your chosen colour is available in virtual try-on.

Do you have Miu Miu cat-eye sunglasses?

A few. Cat-eye frames are a small part of our current Miu Miu range, which is mostly irregular, rectangle and oval shapes. If you like a lifted outer corner, also look at the MUA04S butterfly and the irregular MUA03S. Selected frames can be tried on in the browser to see how the line sits on your face.

How do the Miu Miu rectangles compare?

Three rectangles cover different needs. The MUA51S is a medium gold metal frame with bronze mirror gradient lenses. The MUA05S is a large acetate rectangle in black or honey havana, and the MU09WS is an acetate rectangle listed as extra-large. Choose by size first, then by metal or acetate.

How expensive are Miu Miu sunglasses?

Miu Miu is a designer label from the Prada group, and its price varies with the model and whether the frame is acetate or metal. This page shows the current price for each Miu Miu frame, so there is no need to guess. If you want to split the payment, Afterpay and Zip are offered at checkout.

Are your Miu Miu sunglasses genuine?

Yes. BrightEyes sells genuine Miu Miu sunglasses as an authorised Australian retailer, with full warranty. A useful check on any pair is the code: the MUA03S 16K08Z in size 53, for example, names the model, the colour and the size, so you can match what arrives with what you chose.

Which Miu Miu sunglasses suit a small face?

Start with the frames we list as a small fit: the MUA06S, the MUB09S oval and the MU06ZS oval. Many of our best sellers are large or extra-large, so compare their size with sunglasses you already own before choosing one. Once you have them, staff in our stores can adjust the fit at no cost.

Do you sell Miu Miu prescription glasses?

Not from us. BrightEyes does not fit prescription lenses, so a Miu Miu frame from us keeps its original sun lenses. Glasses wearers can choose fitover sunglasses, which are made to sit over the glasses you already own, or clip-on lenses that fix to the front of your frames.

Virtual try-on: 88 Miu Miu frames can be worn on your own face in the browser, along with every other frame in our try-on range.
