Choosing a Carrera frame
The Carrera 27 and the Grand Prix 2, both large acetate navigators, are our two best-selling Carrera models over the past year. Other options include the Victory line, which spans several separate models: the Victory C 07/S is a large polyamide shield in matte black, and the line also includes the square C 03/S and the medium C 01/S.
Navigators feature strongly among our best sellers. Carrera says the design was inspired by ski goggles and is marked out by the line along the top of the front, and the Carrera 1014/S is another popular one. Among our best sellers, the Grand Prix 2 polarised options have grey gradient lenses, while the Carrera 27 comes with brown or grey gradient polarised lenses. Carrera says its Polar lenses take away glare from reflective surfaces for sharper colours and clear vision.

About Carrera
Carrera was founded in Austria in 1956 by eyewear maker Wilhelm Anger, who named it after the Carrera Panamericana road race in Mexico. In 1964 he developed and patented Optyl, a heat-hardened plastic lighter than acetate. Carrera has belonged to the Italian eyewear group Safilo since 1996 and now operates from Padua, Italy.
