Polarised Lenses

Our Precision Polarised lens technology is at the forefront of premium polarisation in sunglasses. We use a tri-layered lens featuring a Japanese anti-glare filter sandwiched between two extremely lightweight mineral glass wafers. This lens eliminates surface glare while improving visual sharpness and contrast compared to polycarbonate (plastic) lenses. All OTIS Precision Polarised lenses are thermally hardened for impact resistance and pass rigorous testing and quality control requirements.

Mineral Glass Lenses

OTIS mineral glass lenses are naturally scratch resistant, optically correct and more sustainable than the plastic alternatives that go in most other eyewear. This makes them easily the best sunglass lenses on the planet.

Visottica Hinges

All of our frames are made with high quality Italian designed Visottica hinges. These premium grade Vissottica brand hinges are extremely durable and boast 100% corrosion resistance.

Handmade Acetate Frames

Made with premium quality acetate (originating from renewable resources wood pulp & cotton fibre), the ideal material for making durable eyewear. Its hue is embedded within the product rather than sprayed onto the surface, retaining colour brightness and preventing peeling & fading. OTIS handmade frames have stainless steel wires injected into the temples for adjustability - a task best performed by an Eye Care Professional.

Handmade Metal Frames

Made from hard metals - either stainless steel or Monel (a type of hard metal alloy comprised of nickel and copper). These materials are resistant to corrosion and fast flowing sea water. Some of our metals have been finished with matte or brushed effects. These finishes make the metals appear duller and more vintage to achieve a more premium look. Duller finishes also do not absorb or attract more sun to the delicate eye wear. 

UVA/UVB Protection

All OTIS fixed-tint lenses block 100% of harmful UVA, UVB and HEV light to provide superior protection from solar damage causing intraocular melanoma and macular degeneration, as well as reducing eye fatigue and reducing the visible signs of aging, while maintaining true colour and depth perception.

Lens Base Curve

Lens 'Base Curve' is a measure of the front curvature of the lens. The higher the number, the greater the curve. 6 base lenses are generally flatter across the front. 8 base lenses have a greater curve for a more 'wrapped' look.

Otis Warranty

Otis sunglasses have warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the expected lifetime of the sunglasses. Damage to lenses, frames, and other components due to normal wear and tear are not covered under warranty.

All warranty claims must be accompanied with a proof of purchase.
